How to demonstrate an anti-reflective coating

A clean, credible demonstration keeps the lens design, surface treatment and real-world expectations separate.

Explain the job of the surface

The prescription design determines how a lens focuses light. An anti-reflective treatment addresses reflections at the surface. It may be part of a stack with hard and easy-clean layers, but the composition varies by product.

That distinction is a useful teaching moment. GlamAR belongs in the finishing conversation after the professional has chosen a suitable lens design and material.

Run a fair demonstration

Place two clean samples under the same light and viewing angle. Invite the customer to notice the visible reflections rather than promising a measured result from a shop-floor comparison. Move the samples together so the lighting remains comparable.

If one sample differs in tint, lens material or cleanliness, say so. A photograph or glossy render can explain the idea, but it is not evidence of a particular coating’s test performance.

Close with care, not a miracle claim

Discuss cleaning, handling, compatible materials and warranty terms for the exact GlamAR option. Do not equate anti-reflective finishing with a medical benefit or claim that it eliminates every reflection.

A clear explanation earns more trust than a long list of unverified percentages or broad “eye protection” claims.

IN-STORE CONVERSATION

Put the idea to work.

“Let’s look at the lens surface under the same light, so you can see what changes.”

Questions worth asking

  • Which surface reflections does the wearer notice?
  • Is this finish compatible with the selected design and material?
  • What care and warranty terms apply?
